EMERALD TIERS
Whisper the First Scene

This was primarily a solo effort. I hired some folks and had some friends contribute to tracks as needed. This CD received a really great response. My favorite review was:"Imagine if Duran Duran or Tears for Fears had been a progressive rock band. It might have sounded like this."

When I listen back I definitely hear some flaws but am still very proud of the writing. In fact, I think some of the best music I've written is on this album.

I eventually put a band together to perform live and we gigged for a while, mostly in Baltimore, but also in DC and Philly. The band also landed a spot at the Winter Music Conference in Miami, which was an awesome trip. A 16 hour drive for 12 minutes on stage....ROCK 'N ROLL!!!!

SUSTAINED IN JADE
Sketching The Perfect View
We ran into some legal issues with an angry, former member of the band and rather than spend a long time dealing with him, we changed the name of the band from EMERALD TIERS to SUSTAINED IN JADE to kinda keep with the green theme.

The idea for the name came while we were in the studio and our producer told our guitarist that he wanted "sustain for days".

Having already performed together for a while, we soon started writing together and this CD reflects that group effort. I became really sick while we were recording, but I didn't wait until I was 100% and recorded my vocals at about half capacity. When I listen to this CD, I can really hear how sick I was and regret having made that decision. The end result was an uneven effort. Some of it, I'm very proud of... but for every great moment, there's another one I can't stand to listen to. My last gig with the group was opening for one of my favorite bands, King's X!! A great way to make an exit!
